This workshop aims to educate and equip new and existing pet owners with the basic nutritional knowledge and practical skills to ensure optimal nutritional health in pets. Attendees of the workshop will be able to understand the negative impacts of obesity in animals and how to manage obesity in pets. Pet owners will gain insight into the common intoxicants and poisons which pets may be exposed to at home or outside.
- Understand the positive and negative impacts of treat feeding in pets (e.g. bones, fruits, vegetables)
- Understand the basics of common intoxicants and poisons which pets may be exposed to
- Understanding the causes and management of pet obesity (e.g. dieting, exercise)
- Understand how to perform a body condition scoring for your pet
Dr Nicholas Haw
Dr Nicholas Haw graduated with a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Melbourne. As a licensed veterinarian in Singapore and the United Kingdom, Dr Nicholas enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in internal medicine and emergency and critical care.
He has practiced in veterinary clinics before joining Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Diploma in Veterinary Bioscience) as a lecturer. Dr Nicholas strongly believes in the development of animal-related continuing education to improve the standards of animal healthcare and welfare in Singapore.
