What Scooby needs is to do rehabilitation, not only hydro or massage. Rehabilitation includes laser therapy, manual therapy, thermal therapy, electrical stimulation, therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy. The purpose is to correct his gait and strengthen the muscle, which will help him to take the pressure off the bone deformities.

Rehabilitation will help a lot for Boo Boo to strengthen his muscle, manage the pain and stable his stifle. Surgery sometimes is also a choice. We suggest you to bring your dog for further evaluation then we can discuss the detailed plan how to improve Boo Boo’s condition.

Definitely rehabilitation will help with patella luxation. Rehabilitation includes laser, manual therapy, thermal therapy, electrical stimulation, therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy. The purpose is to correct your dog’s gait, strengthen the muscle so that your dog can walk better. Patella luxation should be treated as early as possible to slow down the process and avoid further injury like cranial cruciate ligament tear, also known as the ACL in human terms. It is very painful when the cranial cruciate ligament is torn.

Some good exercises are working on the core muscles e.g. standing on uneven surfaces, superman pose etc.

Butler might have muscle atrophy or discomfort in the left hind limb so he’s not willing to use it and shift the body weight to the right hind limb as compensation. Rehabilitation includes laser, manual therapy, thermal therapy, electrical stimulation, therapeutic exercise and hydrotherapy, will help a lot for him by strengthening muscles and relieving the pain.

Aerobic exercise like proper swimming, slow walk and conditioning trainings will help. We have certificated hydrotherapist and rehabilitation veterinarian to help your dog to exercise in a safe and healthy way. Please contact us for further consultation.
