Pet Expo 2015
Singapore’s Largest PET-ducational Fair!
Pet Expo 2015, the second edition of Pet Expo, was a three-day PET-ducational fair at Singapore EXPO from 20 to 22 March 2015 with total attendees of 25,342 public visitors and 6,862 pets. It spanned across 5,000 square metres and featured 67 exhibiting companies. This event was organised by MP Singapore Pte Ltd and supported by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore.
Pet Expo 2015 is an all-encompassing event that caters to the needs of pets and pet owners while also serving as a platform for visitors to gain educational material and participate in meaningful social activities promoting responsible pet ownership and welfare.
Other than a wide variety of pet products, the show featured a host of talks, workshops and demonstrations for pet owners and animal lovers to learn more about responsible pet ownership. The show’s activities were categorised into three broad sections: Educational, Social, and Entertainment.
The educational aspect covered seminars spanning across a wide array of topics such as nutrition, senior pet care, and animal behaviour management. Visitors can also sign up for hands on workshops on dog dental care, basic pet grooming, dog massage, and agility. A showcase of unique pet breeds in Singapore also educated visitors on uncommon pet breeds and how to care for them.
The social aspect focused on promoting pet adoption and creating awareness on pet abandonment. Activities included a speed dating adoption event and charity fundraising. Pet Expo also collaborated with The Cat Museum to promote adoption of stray kittens, and with help from the Singapore Special Club, organised the largest Singapore Special gathering. This gathering also helped to promote adoption of Singapore’s stray dogs.
Entertainment-wise, there was a special appearance by Asia Pacific’s top blogger Xiaxue in a Meet-and-Greet session. She was also the judge for a rabbit-related contest. Pet Expo also partnered with the Singapore Kennel Club (SKC) to organise the International Championship Dog Show and SKC Championship Dog Show, as well as The Feline Fanciers Society of Singapore for a cat show.
The three-day exhibition was opened by Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Mayor of North East District of Singapore, Mr Teo Ser Luck.
